Masters in Public Health (MPH) course in public health has emerged as an important global concern both for developed
and developing countries. However, in developing world public health education is becoming
prestigious as well. Moreover, in achieving MDGs and SDGs the role of public health specialist
becoming crucial for a developing country like: Bangladesh. Anwer Khan Modern University
(AKMU) is approved by Bangladesh University Grants Commission and Government of
Bangladesh. AKMU is very much concern bringing change in dealing common health problems
through developing human resources needed to combat multifaceted public health concerns
including communicable, non-communicable and chronic disease of Bangladesh in particular.
The dealing of public health is a comprehensive approach consisting of interdisciplinary
subjects that extends from basic medical subjects to highly specialized subjects and
technologies. The requirement of human resources with MPH degree in Bangladesh thus require
fitting with the capabilities that will serve dealing in different health programs in the upcoming
days both at home and abroad. Considering the views the AKMU MPH degree is highly
professional credential for making future leaders/public health professional to meet the
comprehensive need for both healthy & sick people at large.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM:
The Masters in Public Health Program is a 1.5 years program consisting of 3 Semesters.
