The ready-made garments (RMG) industry in Bangladesh is a major economic driver, contributing significantly to the country’s export earnings and employment. It’s a global hub for apparel sourcing, with over 4,000 factories producing a wide variety of knitwear and woven garments. Despite its importance, the industry faces challenges related to worker safety, wages, and working condition
The Bangladeshi garment industry, particularly the readymade garment (RMG) sector, is a major driver of the country’s economy and a significant global player in apparel production. It’s the largest export earner for Bangladesh, contributing a significant portion of the country’s overall export revenue. The industry is also a major source of employment, particularly for women.
