Md. Shofiqul Islam currently serves as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Anwer Khan Modern University. He laid the foundation of his academic career by earning his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) in 2016, where he specialized in Geotechnical Engineering and was honored with the Dean’s Award for his outstanding academic performance.

Driven by a passion for his field, Mr. Islam is currently advancing his expertise by pursuing an M.Sc. in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering at his alma mater, KUET.

He began his professional journey in academia as a Lecturer at City University in 2018. Through dedication and a proven track record, he ascended to the role of Assistant Professor and Department Head at Anwer Khan Modern University in April 2025. In his career, he has gained substantial and diverse experience, which he now applies to leading the department and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
