OVERVIEW:

The Department of Business Administration (DBA) provides a comprehensive business education program which is running under the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS). The Department is conducting two programs: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). The aim of the programs is to prepare students to acquire and practice state-of-the-art business and management knowledge and skills, thereby helping them become outstanding business leaders in the highly dynamic global environment of the 21st century. The students of both programs expect to have bright prospects of career development in their preferred areas of devotion, both within and outside the country.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM:

The BBA Program is a four (4) years of full-time study program consisting of 8 semesters, 2 semesters in a year to qualify for a degree with 129 credits. A student can receive an MBA degree by completing 39-63 credits in 2-4 semesters in 1-2 year(s).

CREDIT REQUIREMENT

This is a 126 credit program including 41 (forty one) courses and internships program. Each course contains 3 Credit. The length of each course is 14 weeks, of which 12 weeks for classes (3 hours per week) and 2 weeks for examination. Number of classes in a week is 2 consisting of 1.5 hours per class.

COURSE DISTRIBUTION

The courses are divided into general education courses, business core courses, major area courses and elective courses in each program. The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh recommended a Uniform Grading system for all Public and Private Universities with effect from Session 2006-2007. The university follows the UGC grading system to prepare the results of all examinations according to its guideline and issue transcripts accordingly.
